Major Drug Trafficker Arrested, JCSO Says

JOHNSTON COUNTY – A suspect described by authorities as a “major drug trafficker” in Johnston County has been arrested. Jorge Eduardo Martinez-Napoles was arrested Friday, Jan. 25 at an address on Morehead Drive, off Dupree Road, in the Willow Spring community.

Narcotic agents with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office had been investigating Martinez-Napoles over six months before making the arrest. He is facing multiple charges including three counts of trafficking in cocaine, three counts of possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and eight counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.

JCSO narcotic officers reportedly seized $13,491 in cash, approximately 14.6 ounces of cocaine, 17.8 ounces of marijuana, 2.2 grams of heroin, multiple Clonazepam pills, four rifles and four handguns.

Martinez-Napoles, age 39, was held under a $960,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center. Additional charges have not been ruled out.
