Smithfield Murder Suspect In Custody

SMITHFIELD – The suspect in a fatal shooting in Smithfield is behind bars. Monday night, Markyse Naijae McCain, age 20, of Selma turned himself in to the Smithfield Police Department.

McCain was served with a first-degree murder warrant. He is currently confined in the Johnston County Detention Center without bond.

McCain is accused of killing Antwane DeShawn Fellows, age 30, of Clayton, inside an apartment at 2261 Kay Drive, on Monday, January 22 around 4:55pm.

McCain fled from the scene before officers arrived.

Police said Fellows was gunned down during a dispute over a misplaced cell phone.

    • @jenna. Nah, these kids weren’t raised right. There were red flags. Look at former FB pages….many clues that he was headed to the gangster style of life…..or maybe his family enjoyed the “,fimer” things in life so this young guy waa that person to fund moms house and got caught up in something tragic this time. I will say he certainly is a tall handsome young man. I can vision many many great things to come of his life if he could just stop this gangster living. Son, look at yourself and into your heart. What is ailing your heart. Talk to someone professional while you are locked up. Figure out why you turned to this life. I honestly see something good that could come of you. Although you sit with murder charges my heart leads .t to pray for you and your family as well as the victims. I don’t know the whole story but somehow I believe you are better than this…I pray so.
