BENSON – A 38 year-old Johnston County man is accused of selling a stolen dirt bike. Eric Lee Smith, of the 3800 block of NC 242 South, was arrested November 13 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
On November 7, Smith reportedly met an unsuspecting victim at a Benson-area business parking lot and sold them a dirt bike for $1,700.
The bike had recently been reported stolen from the Plainview Community in Sampson County.
Smith was charged with felony possession of stolen property and obtaining property by false pretense.
