A Smithfield man is facing sextortion charges over an alleged relationship that started with another Johnston County man in 2013.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from the victim in February. Following a two month investigation, Todd Johnathan Sisk, 34, of British Court, Smithfield was arrested Friday.
According to detectives, Sisk and the victim reportedly met on the Internet about four years ago and began a relationship
In recent months, Sisk allegedly emailed and threatened to expose explicit video and texts to the man’s wife unless Sisk was paid $66,500.
Instead of complying with the demands, the victim contacted authorities.
Sisk was charged with extortion, a felony.
