Selma Police are investigating a weekend shooting that left a Selma man with three gunshot wounds. It happened Saturday night at 405 W. Preston Street.
Police Chief W.M. Thomas said 53 year-old Kenneth Earl Sutton of S. Sumner Street, Selma was at the Preston Street address when he was shot. Sutton was rushed to Wake Med where he underwent emergency surgery. At last report Sutton was listed in stable condition.
Chief Thomas said detectives are still trying to determine a motive.
Police have identified a person of interest and are currently attempting to locate the individual. Police did not disclose the name of the person being sought for questioning.
