CLAYTON – A 29 year-old man was shot during a domestic dispute near Clayton. Johnston County deputies responded to the scene on Country Lane, just before 10:00 o’clock Thursday night.
Authorities said Alberto Lopez Ramon was shot once in the leg. Ramon was transported by ambulance to WakeMed for treatment. He was later released from the hospital.
Sheriff’s investigators said Ramon was engaged in an verbal argument, then physical altercation, with the male suspect. When the physical altercation ended, the suspect went to his vehicle, retrieved a gun, and allegedly shot Ramon. The suspect fled from the scene before officers arrived.
The incident remains under investigation.
