A man wanted for an attempted robbery Wednesday night at a CVS Pharmacy in Johnston County may be the same person wanted for similar robberies in Sampson and Duplin counties.
Around 6:30pm, a lone white male entered the CVS on Highway 42 near I-40 in the Cleveland community. Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said the suspect waited for most of the customers in the store to leave before he approached the counter and presented a note to the clerk demanding money.
Initially the clerk did not think the suspect was serious, however the suspect indicated he had a gun under his shirt however no weapon was ever displayed. The suspect left without taking any money. No injuries were reported.
The suspect was a white male, about 6 foot tall, with a heavy build and silver/gray hair and a stubby beard also had a number of tattoos.
Anyone with information about the attempted robbery or the suspect is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
