A drug search warrant at a Clayton-area home Friday night led to the discovery of a large amount of marijuana, cash, and a firearm.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division went to a home on Country Lane as part of a drug investigation. Authorities said an elderly woman answered the door but refused to allow officers inside to search the residence. Deputies secured the property and returned with a search warrant.
Agents reportedly found 230 grams of marijuana, $3,700 in cash, drug paraphernalia, packaging material and a shotgun.
Scott James Snelling, 26, of Country Lane, Clayton was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $50,000.
