Chick-fil-A Smithfield To Relocate To Larger Restaurant In Selma

SELMA, N.C. — Chick-fil-A’s longtime Smithfield restaurant will soon move to a new location just down the road in Selma.

The current Chick-fil-A Smithfield restaurant will close March 17 before reopening March 25 at a newly built location near the intersection of Interstate 95 and U.S. Highway 70 East in the Eastfield area.

The restaurant will operate under the name Chick-fil-A Smithfield–Selma.

The new location will feature expanded parking and other site improvements designed to better serve customers and employees, according to the company.

Local owner-operator Karla Reinertsen will continue leading the restaurant, and all current team members are expected to transition to the new facility. Additional hiring is underway as the restaurant prepares for increased demand.

“Smithfield has supported our restaurant for years and that community will always be at the heart of what we do,” Reinertsen said. “While our restaurant is moving a few minutes down the road, our commitment to the people and families who have supported us remains the same. We’re excited to continue serving this community in our new home.”

Once open, the new restaurant will operate Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The relocation comes as continued growth at Eastfield has drawn new commercial and residential development in Selma.

  1. So instead of fighting the Smithfield traffic, you get to fight the more bottleneck version of it in Selma. Have at it. I stopped eating there after reading and researching the ingredients in their chicken and other food. Ingredients are banned in every country but here. It’s the healthy alternative tho😆

  2. Good because the traffic at the old place was crazy can’t believe people want a chicken sandwich that bad

  3. I’m so happy for them I hope likens the traffic up around the Walmart area here in Smithfield it is so bad trying to get in and out of there where Chick-fil-A is it’s not a good location for Chick-fil-A so I’m grateful they are trying to do something about it and moving thank you

  4. I haven’t had a sandwich from that place in a year. My wife can make them better at home without all of the processed BS. Not to mention the Smithfield location was not a great location for traffic poor planning whoever thought that was a good idea was wrong.

  5. Bye bye chic fil A not supporting urban sprawl plus that’s just too far from my home and can’t afford the prices or the fried food calories
I got an email about a grand opening and was confused so now I know the insanity of 95 sprawl to Selma

  6. Happy this has finally happened. It’s been years in the making and requests. Also, I know there are lots of stuff in our foods but having worked there I know the chicken comes in raw and is freshly breaded and cooked despite most other fast food and even sit down restaurants that just open a bag and dump it in the fryer so at least it is better at least in my mind. I’m just glad we can finally go again without taking so long due to the traffic jam.
