Months-Long Drug Investigation Leads To Arrest

SMITHFIELD – A months-long undercover investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office narcotics division has led to the arrest of a 49 year-old man. Jeffrey Lamont Evans of Ivey Lane, Goldsboro was taken into custody August 11.
Evans was arrested on 16 felony drug-related warrants, including possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver cocaine, deliver cocaine, sell cocaine, and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance.
Evans was confined in the Johnston County Detention Center under a $290,000 secured bond.
No additional information about the investigation was released.
