A Princeton woman is facing multiple charges including child abuse after authorities said they found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her home.
A Johnston County SAFE Team deputy was on patrol in the Holts Landing Subdivision and in plain sight saw a 2-1/2 foot marijuana plant growing in a pot on the back deck. The deputy stopped at the home but could not get anyone to answer the door.
Moments later the homeowner, identified as 37 year-old Julia Raper Tate of Lauren Lane, arrived. Tate allowed officers to search her home. Inside, deputies said they found drug paraphernalia, including paraphernalia in the bedroom of her 12 year-old child.
Tate was charged with manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and child abuse. She was booked into the Johnston County Jail Monday afternoon under a $20,000 bond.
