Linda Watson and the Neuse Charter School 4th Grade Science & Social Studies classes concluded a long-term entrepreneurship project at the Ham & Yam Festival on May 2nd.
The students learned about marketing, advertising and production. They discussed needs and wants, quality of merchandise verses quantity and tying a project to a cause.
The project culminated with the class renting a space at the Ham & Yam Festival in Smithfield and selling jewelry that the students created themselves from paper beads.
The students raised $540 and donated $207 of their profits to the Johnston County Animal Shelter. The remainder of their profits is earmarked for the students’ end of year celebration.
