New Photo Of McDonald’s Robbery Suspect Released

Smithfield Police on Friday released a security camera photo of a man wanted for robbing a customer inside the West Smithfield McDonald’s on December 6th. The victim was in the bathroom when the suspected entered, began assaulting him, and grabbed his wallet.

As the suspect began to exit the store, the victim emerged from the restroom and shouted he had been robbed. The suspect then threw the wallet at the victim, without taking the $12 that it contained.

A patron inside the restaurant took a cell phone photo of the suspect as he walked away, then got into the passenger side of a purple Chevy C10 pickup truck driven by a black female. The truck then sped away from the scene.

The victim waited about 72 hours before reporting the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 foot 8, weighing 180 pounds. Anyone with information about the suspect or the purple Chevy C10 pickup is asked to contact Smithfield Police Detective Blinson at 919-934-2121. Callers can remain anonymous.
