The NC Highway Patrol graduated 23 new troopers on Friday, including one trooper who will be assigned to Johnston County.
The graduation ceremony for the 142nd Basic Highway Patrol School was held at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. The celebration ended 15 weeks of extensive academic and physical training.
Trooper Taylor Price of Wayne County has been assigned to Johnston County.
Colonel G. M. McNeill Jr., 27th Commander of the State Highway Patrol told the new graduates, “My challenge to you on this day is a charge to be an effective law enforcement leader, to carry out your duty to North Carolina with loyalty, integrity and professionalism. Remember what you’ve learned, use good judgment, don’t forget that effective communication is key and always apply ethics to your decision-making process.”
The 23 cadets, including Trooper Price, will report to their respective duty stations on October 11th to begin a rigorous field training program.
