The Clayton Police Department is investigating a string of bomb threats called into Clayton businesses over the past two days.
Detectives believe a single suspect is responsible for the threats. Five threats were made Tuesday night. An undisclosed number were phoned in Wednesday night. Officials would not disclose the names of the businesses that received the calls.
No bombs have been found and no one has been injured.
While the calls appear to be a prank, Town of Clayton Public Information Officer Stacy Beard said police take all threats seriously and will investigate the matter until a suspect is identified and arrested.
If you have received a bomb threat, or have any information about who might be making the calls, please call Clayton Police at 919-553-4611 or call the Clayton Crime Stoppers tip line at 919-359-TIPZ.
