Alice Mae Spence Nichols

    Alice Mae Spence Nichols, 83, formally of Princeton, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Killy Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

    She was born April 18, 1941 in Mingo Co, West Virginia to the late Henry Clay Spence and Utha Faye Marcum Spence. Mrs. Nichols was the widow of Kenneth E. Nichols, Sr., along with her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Dikes Heckman, brothers; Dallas Spence, Roy Spence, sisters; Marie Burns and Lois Wheeler.

    The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton. The burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.

    Mrs. Nichols is survived by a son; Kenneth Edward Nichols, Jr. of Archers Lodge, daughters; Lisa Dikes Abbott of Fremont, Lori Nichols Harmon and husband Duncan of Clayton, Rose Ellen Nichols of West Virginia, brothers; Phil Spence of Ohio, Robert Spence of West Virginia, Russell Spence of Kentucky, sisters; Betty Goudy of Ohio, Sharon Golightly of West Virginia, grandchildren; Dwight Fleming, Noah Abbott, Courtney Harris and husband Eric, Alex Harmon and wife Wilson, Matthew Hathway, Preston Harmon, Tanner Harmon and Grace Day.

    The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Meadowview Assisted Living of Smithfield and the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro for their excellent care of their mom.
