Audrey was a great cook and loved to prepare family meals. She also enjoyed working in her yard and garden. As her years progressed, she went from having a large garden to finally a smaller container garden she could manage. She was also an avid reader and was encouraged to read all she could by her mother. When she was able to drive, she was a frequent visitor to libraries. In her later years, all of her family would continually bring her new books to read, an activity she enjoyed till the end.
Audrey made many sacrifices for her family, especially after her husband left her widowed at age 49.
She never met a stranger and was an enthusiastic sports fan. She will always be remembered by all of her family as loving and supportive.
A graveside service will be held in the Micro Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
We would like to thank all of the staff at Barbour Court in Smithfield for their wonderful care of our mother for the last few years. God Bless you all.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to Micro Original Freewill Baptist Church or to the Kenly Public Library in memoriam.
