Beatrice Jones Edgeley

Birth Date: 04/30/1948
Deceased Date: 07/14/2025

With heartfelt love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Beatrice Edgeley, a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved granny, and treasured sister. She peacefully entered the arms of her Savior on July 14, 2025, at UNC Johnston Health of Smithfield. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Hyman Jones and Dixie Jones Pierce; her daughter, Sandra Pendergraft; granddaughter, Amanda Pendergraft; her brother, Lee Jones; sister, Sheila Hill; and brother-in-law Danny Watkins.

Beatrice lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and love. She was a woman of quiet strength and enduring grace who poured herself into caring for others- whether through a hot meal, a helping hand, or a whispered prayer. Her love for Jesus was the foundation of her life, and it shined brightly in her devotion to her family, her church, Crumpler’s Crossroads Church, where she was a faithful member.

Beatrice loved fishing, cooking for her loved ones, and spending time in the Word of God. She found joy in life’s simplest blessings and taught those around her the true meaning of faith, kindness, and perseverance.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Edgeley; daughter, Jenny Sorensen (Lonnie); son, Jerome Edgeley (Miranda); and dearly beloved grandchildren, Dallas, LJ (Katie), Madison, Kevin, Tyler, Krystal, Erika, Joseph (Hope), Brittney, and Tiffany. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren; Liza, Austin, Calab, Braylen, McKenzie, and Waylen. Beatrice is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, James Jones (Margaret), JoAnn Watkins, Diane Pierce (Golden), Cathy Stanley (Tony), Phillip Jones, Alton Hill, Patsy Autry (Roy), and Pam Lewis (Donnie), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and wisdom.

A private graveside service will be held in Price Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held, but anyone who wishes to pay their respects are welcome to visit Parrish Funeral Home on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Though she will be dearly missed, we take comfort in knowing that Beatrice is now resting peacefully in the presence of her Lord. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” -Matthew 25:23
