Benson, NC: Mrs. Becky Byrd Barefoot, age 76, of Tarheel Road passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Transitions Hospice Care in Raleigh, NC. Graveside Services will be held-2:00 PM Monday May 15, 2023 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mrs. Barefoot was born on May 2, 1947 in Harnett County to the late Willard Burchel and Maxine Clifton Byrd. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Dennis Byrd and Durran Byrd. She retired after 38 years with Progress Energy where she worked as an office administrator. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Stephen Barefoot, Jr.; son, Stephen Darrell Barefoot; and granddaughter, Morgan Hanna Barefoot.
The family will greet friends and family after the graveside service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the SPCA of Wake County at 200 Petfinder Ln, Raleigh, NC 27603.
