Micro – Billy Earl Batten, age 73, passed away Saturday February 26, 2022 at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Smithfield. He was born in Johnston County on December 19, 1948 to the late Ruby Batten. In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by a infant twin brother; by special care giver, Roby Turner.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday February 28, 2022 at Micro First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stevens officiating. Burial will follow the service in Sanders Batten Family cemetery.
Mr. Batten is survived by several cousins and special friends.
He was a member at Micro First Baptist Church and served as an usher in the church. He enjoyed the men’s fellowship at the church, taking trips to go fishing in Surf City, and going to Parkers in Wilson to get chicken, where he was known by everyone that worked there.
