Callie Ross Stanley, 79, passed on April 30, 2025 after an extended illness. Callie was born in Johnston County on January 15, 1946, daughter of the late Leonard and Oma Ross. Callie was a homemaker most of her life along with providing home cleaning services around her area. She enjoyed working with her flowers and cleaning her home until she wasn’t able to.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Charles Ross, Leonard Earl Ross, Alfred Ross, Arthur “Midget” Ross, and Kenneth Ross, and 2 sons, Billy Robbin Lee and Johnny Ray Lee. She was also preceded in death by her beloved Chihuahua “Baby Face” who she loved dearly. It was her baby, and her loss was devastating to her.
Surviving are her son, Danny Lee (Felicia) of Smithfield; brothers Elmon “Buddy” Ross (Peggy) of Raleigh, Marshall “Bull” Ross (Violet) of Wilsons Mills, Bobby Ross (Judy) of Clayton; sister Irene Williams of Clayton; 5 grandchildren, Brittany Lee, Jagger Lee, Ashley Holbrook, Bobbie Lee, Rebecca Lee, and 4 great-grandchildren. Callie loved all her family dearly and was always excited to see the great-grandchildren. They had a special place in her heart.
A private graveside service for the family will be conducted at Hills of Neuse Memory Gardens with Reverend Gary Killebrew officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to SECU Hospice House, PO Box 1376, 426 Hospital Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.
