Carl Frederick “Fred” Murray, age 85, of Selma, passed away on February 4, 2023. Born in Johnston County on December 31, 1937, he was the son of the late Charlie Blaine and Vicky Godwin Murray. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Lane Murray in 2019.
Mr. Murray worked with the Electrical Department of the Town of Selma for 33 years, retiring as Electrical Superintendent. He was a longtime active member of Selma Tabernacle Church of God.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Tuesday, February 7, from 10 – 11 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am.
Surviving are his children, Gerald Murray and wife Jo of Kenly, Terry Murray of Kenly, Tammy Eason and husband Eddie of Selma; a brother Bobby Murray of Spring Lake; a sister Virginia Finch of Virginia; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
