Emma Rollins Johnson

We said farewell to Emma Rollins Johnson of 210 Highway in Smithfield, at 4:20 am on February 6, 2023. She was born in Johnston County to the late Clyda Deans Rollins and the late Ed Rastus Rollins on February 17, 1943. Not being opposed to hard work, she worked in the knitting mills in Burlington, NC until 1970, then as a tobacco farmer on 1010 highway until 1986 and then as a waitress at the Waffle House until she retired in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her children Terry Wayne Jernigan, Mark Anthony Jernigan, Cindy Lou Jernigan, Maryland Elizabeth Jernigan and her husband Keith Braxton Johnson.
She is survived by her sons Bobby John Jernigan Jr. and wife Carol of Pikeville, Timothy Lee Jernigan and wife Crystal of Smithfield, Alan Ray Jernigan and wife Dana of Selma, her daughter-in-law Susan Robinson Jernigan of Apex, her brother Jimmy Rollins, her sister Della Rollins Lee of Fayetteville, grandchildren Peggy Marie Jernigan Landgren, David Wayne Keene, Jimmy Joe Jernigan and wife Leah, William Levi Jernigan, April Russell and husband William(Ren), Michael Jernigan, Tanner Lee Jernigan and wife Kymberly, Megan White, Summer Dawn Jernigan, John Wayne Jernigan, Scottie Ray Jernigan, Justin Daniel Worley and wife Lydia, Spencer Alan Jernigan, Mason Raymond Jernigan and several great-grandchildren.
