Benson, NC: Mr. Charlie Benton “Bob” Nordan, Jr., age 74, of Old Fairground Road passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by his wife of 47 years and his children. Graveside Services will be held 3:00PM Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCullen.
Mr. Nordan was born on November 19, 1948 in Harnett County to the late Charlie Benton, Sr. and Ethel Mae Sorrell Nordan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Nordan. Mr. Nordan farmed all his life, and in the last 25 years he owned and operated Nordan Construction Company. When he wasn’t working, Mr. Nordan enjoyed riding around the farm, Sunday lunches, fishing at his favorite spots and spending time with his family.
Surviving includes his wife, the love of his life since he was 16, Glenda Norris Nordan; children, April Nordan Byrd and husband, Jody, Bobbi Nordan Robbins and husband, Tim, Ben Nordan and wife, Ashley all of the family farm; grandchildren, Jake, Carson, and Maelee Byrd, Luke and Emma Robbins, Charlie and Cohen Nordan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of April and Jody Byrd.
