Clara C. Yelverton, age 88, of Princeton she passed away on April 24, 2024, in Smithfield, NC. At SECU Hospice House. Clara was born on April 5, 1936, and was the youngest of 21 children.
Clara was a devoted member of Princeton Church of God and had a deep love for her Savior. She enjoyed Bible study, reading, bird watching, and decorating outside. Clara cherished her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Clara is survived by her daughters, Teresa Johnson, and Melody Wood (Mark) her grandsons Blake Johnson (Jordan) and Travis Johnson (Brittani), and her great-grandchildren Lara, Olivia, Garrett, Riley, and Mallory. She is also survived by bonus grandchildren Brandi Hinnant and family, and Adam Davis and family, along with many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father George W Creech, her mother Lettie Rose Creech, husband Ray Yelverton, granddaughter Taylor Davis, and several brothers and sisters.
Clara worked at Fieldcrest Mills for 35 years, standing at a moulding machine, and later found her passion for serving people at Orthos physical therapy. She made many lasting friendships during her career.
Visitation for Clara will be held at Parrish Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 26, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by funeral services from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Burial will take place directly after at Selma Memorial Gardens.
