Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Edna Ercell Batten Lee, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Johnston UNC Healthcare in Smithfield, NC. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Pauline Baptist Church 501 Strickland’s Crossroads Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524. Dr. Robert Cooke and Dr. Sherrill Stevens will officiate. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lee was born on June 30, 1934 in Wilson County, NC to the late Harvey Dallas and Edna Velia Starling Batten. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl Lee, sisters, Dorothy Hayes and Lorene Guy, and brothers, Cornell Batten, Alfred Batten, Willie Batten, Toby Batten, Valton Batten and Joe Batten. Mrs. Lee was a retired seamstress from the Jerold Sewing Factory. She was also a homemaker and a member of Pauline Baptist Church, Four Oaks, NC.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Gregory and husband Joe; son, Kenneth Lee and wife, Darlene; grandchildren, Michael Gregory and special friend, Crystal Wester, Jonathan Lee and wife, Michelle, Melissa Roberts and husband, Allen, all of Four Oaks, NC; and Matthew Lee and wife, Megan of Princeton, NC; great-grandchildren, Maci Lee, Andrew Roberts, Caden Lee, Will Lee, Mia Roberts, Mary Kyle Lee, Caroline Wester and Luke Wester; many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
The family will also be receiving family and friends from 4:00PM-8:00PM each day at Mrs. Lee’s home, leading up to the day of the services.
