Elizabeth Harper Jenkins, aged 79, passed peacefully after a short but valiant fight with pancreatic cancer at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield on March 25, 2024. Elizabeth was born on March 20, 1945, in Johnston County.
Elizabeth graduated from Parkview Hospital School of Nursing and earned a RN degree. After graduation she had a 40-year career in the nursing profession. Upon retirement Elizabeth filled her time with enjoying her grandson, gardening, and spending time with family.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 52 years David, daughter Susan Isenhour (Richard), and grandson, Robbie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Washington and Letha Harper, brothers, Larry and Landis.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (218 South 2nd Street) Smithfield, NC at 2:00 on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, with a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
