Smithfield – Henry Jacob King Jr. age 74, went to his forever home on Friday, July 19, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born, September 16, 1949, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late Henry J. King and Iona Stephenson King. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Joe King, Jerry King and his sister, Elizabeth King Keene.

Junior worked for over 25 years as a contractor. He later worked in the land clearing business, clearing land for new construction. In his later years he enjoyed watching tv, including watching westerns, wrestling on Friday nights, and The Young and The Restless, of which his favorite character was Victor Newman, and loved reminiscing about the good ole days. Junior was a loving father, papa, brother, and uncle.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda King Sullivan of Smithfield, granddaughter, Gracie Sullivan, life long friend, Wilma Pruitt King as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all of Junior’s caretakers over the last few years.
