Benson, NC: Ms. Hilda Faye McGee, age 76, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held-2:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at McGee Family Cemetery in McGee’s Crossroads. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Johnson.
Ms. McGee was born on May 1, 1947 in Johnston County to the late Carson and Mattie Eva Penny McGee. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tim Radford; sisters, Blanche Thomason and Jean Baker; and brother, Donald McGee. Prior to retirement, she worked in textiles. Often described as a strong woman, she raised her three sons on her own. She was a dog lover, loved to garden, and loved to eat at McDonald’s. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Surviving includes her sons, Ronnie Radford and wife, Tona and Chris Radford and wife, Pam; daughter-in-law, Denise Radford; grandchildren, Alex Radford and wife, Stacey, Leigh Radford; Kristin Radford; Scott Kempley and wife, Ashley, and Shae Spence and wife, Desiree; five great grandchildren; sisters, Gail Rouse and Harriett Holland; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at McGee Family Cemetery.
