Johnnie Mae Woodall Edwards, age 81, passed away early Monday morning, November 18, 2024 at her home. Born December 11, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Zadie Belle Sullivan Woodall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edwards; and brother, Durwood Woodall.
Johnnie Mae was a lifetime member of Tee’s Chapel OFWB Church, where she served as pianist for almost 70 years, and as a Sunday School teacher for many years. When she wasn’t at church or work, you could find her in “Granny’s Kitchen” cooking for her family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Tee’s Chapel FWB Church with Rev. Joey Williams and Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Tee’s Chapel FWB Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church just prior to the service.
Surviving are her son, Bennie Edwards; daughter, Angie Jacobs and husband Jake; brother, Cecil Woodall and wife Susan; sisters-in-law, Melba Jean Woodall all of Smithfield and Athlea Peedin of Pine Level; grandchildren, Patrick Jacobs and wife Audrey, Ashley Norris and husband John, Jessica Allen and husband Colby, Matthew Edwards and wife Caroline, Bradley Barnes and wife Mary Anna; great grandchildren, Edin Allen, Jacob Norris, Eleanor Norris, Benjamin Edwards, Carson Edwards (due in February), and Whit Barnes.
