Johnny Wayne Futch, age 66, of Clayton passed away February 4, 2025 at Wake Med Hospital following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Johnny was born August 3, 1958 in Johnson County to Shirley Futch Johnson.

Johnny was a caring devoted husband, father, and Pa. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was his biggest pleasure. They were his biggest accomplishment and he bragged about them always with great pride and joy.
Being a sports fan, his favorite players were his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their football, basketball, tee ball games, and even swim lessons. He was their biggest “fan.†If a child needed a mentor or father figure to step in and help with coaching, Johnny was the man for the job. He found joy in helping others, expecting nothing in return.
Johnny followed the Cleveland High School football team and Friday nights he could be found in the football stadium with his wife Cathy enjoying cheering on the team.
After a 41-year career at Southbend-Middleby, Johnny found lasting friendships with many. He enjoyed cooking a pig for his co workers frequently. Johnny never met a stranger. He would find something to talk about, share a funny story and always left people with a smile. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Johnny, found a blessing in his friendship.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife Cathy of 34 years; son, Zack Futch, and wife Lauren; daughter, Misty Lasater, and fiancé Justin Walters; grandsons, Camden Stewart, and Jake Stewart; granddaughters, Adley Futch and Josie Futch; mother, Shirley Futch Johnson; and a fur baby, Layla.
