Juanita Mitchell Rowe, 91, of Wake Forest went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was born September 27, 1930 in Kenly, North Carolina to the late Ruffin and Vega Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rayford Rowe, sisters, Linda and Myrtle, brothers, Robert, Lester, and Haywood, and Great Granddaughter, Riley.
Juanita attended Princeton High School and then went to Atlantic Christian College. She worked for the US Department of Agriculture in Raleigh until she retired.
Juanita was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church in Kenly, North Carolina where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and hummingbirds. Juanita loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to play practical jokes and was known for fun stockings at Christmas time. She was an avid note taker and documented all of the family history. Juanita loved to tell stories. Her family will miss her rabbit trails and the time they spent together.
Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 PM, just prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fellowship United Methodist Church.
Juanita is survived by her children, Greg Rowe (Jenny) and Brenda Cogan (David), sisters, Joan Edwards, Irene Jordan (Ron), and Vera Rains, Grandchildren Anthony Rowe (Carly), Stephanie Cogan, Amy Cogan, Angela Perry (Josh), Great Grandchildren Kennedy Rowe, Emma Rowe, Spencer Peedin, Evan Peedin, and Jade Perry as well as countless nieces and nephews and other beloved family members.
