Willow Spring, NC: Mr. Richard Otis Dupree, age 90, of Dixon Road, passed away at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, on March 17, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM-Sunday March 20, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Officiating will be Pastor R.B. Parrish and Reverend Kevin Edwards. Burial will follow in Fellowship Community Cemetery in Angier, NC.
Mr. Dupree was born on April 21, 1931 in Johnston County to the late Ervin Henry and Ethel Jones Dupree. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Otis “Dicky” Dupree, Jr and brother, Douglas Dupree.
Mr. Dupree was carpenter in residential construction prior to retirement and a member of Friendly Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson and he also attended Four Oaks Church of God in Four Oaks, NC.
Surviving include his wife of 25 years, Rebecca C. Dupree; sons, Tim Dupree and wife, Cindy of Raleigh and Chet Dupree and wife, Marlene of Garner; grandchildren, Sarah Barrick and husband, Jeff, Tucker Dupree, and Cameron Dupree; great-grandchildren, Jason and Sawyer Barrick; sister, Lois Lawhorn of Willow Spring; brother, Robert Dupree of Willow Spring; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
