Karen Marie Boardman

Karen Marie Boardman

Karen Marie Boardman, known as “Tooty” to her family, entered her eternal home peacefully on Sunday, January 4th. She was born on December 9th, 1960, on US Army base in Wiesbaden, Germany. She spent most of her adult life in Fayetteville and moved to Selma in 2018 and has worked at Walmart in Smithfield the last seven years, much loved by her coworkers and customers. She valued the peace of Selma and quickly made friends in her small community.

Karen was the most generous person you could meet. She selflessly spent many years as a caregiver, both professionally and from devotion to her family. She had a wicked sense of humor that could make anyone laugh and a kind smile that radiated warmth and trustworthiness.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents SSG Charles Boardman (Army, ret.), and Janet Boardman; her sister Janie Willis and her husband Ron; and her sister Sandy Edwards, all of whom resided in Fayetteville.

Karen is survived by her niece Amanda Willis, of Raleigh; nephew Clinton Edwards, of Four Oaks, wife Laura Edwards, and their children James “Jimmy” Edwards and Samantha Edwards; as well as her beloved dog Charlie.

She will be greatly missed. We will have a celebration of life in the near future & everyone will be notified in advance.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Johnston County Animal Shelter.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at parrishfh.com.
