    Birth Date: 12/13/1971
    Deceased Date: 01/25/2022

Laura Michelle Clifton, age 50, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Laura fought a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Born December 13, 1971, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. Clifton and Linda Stephenson. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles P. Clifton and grandparents; Ralph and Edna Clifton and Earl and Lema Stephenson.

Laura was an avid Tarheel fan and loved rooting for her team with her friends. She loved music, singing and dancing. She enjoyed playing cornhole and playing music bingo with her friends.

Laura loved animals especially dogs. Her favorite was a Boxer because she grew up with them as her family raised Boxers. This was until one day she adopted a black and white Boston Terrier. From then on she was a Boston Terrier mom.

Laura was an old soul loving movies, tv shows and music from the past. Some of her favorites were “Singing in the Rain”, “My Fair Lady” and “Meet Me in St. Louis”. Her favorite tv show had to be Mash. She knew just about every line of the show. Can’t forget The Golden Girls. As she lay in her hospital bed they were showing all the episodes of The Golden Girls on tv on Betty White’s birthday. It was wonderful to see her smiling and giggling watching the shows. She loved music of all kinds but one that she loved was listening to Elvis Presley. Her Mother would tease her and her response was, “Momma, I grew up listening to him as he was your favorite!”

Laura loved her job at S&ME, Inc. as an accounts payable specialist. She also loved her co-workers and a small group of them calling themselves The Golden Girls.

Laura and her Mother had a special bond and shared many wonderful times together.

Laura will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
