Micro- Leroy Franklin Ray, age 78, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. Born in Wake County on May 26, 1944, he was a son to the late Hub Ray and Lettie Inscore.

Leroy attended New Life Baptist Church in Smithfield. He was a hard-working man for all of his life. Leroy shared a special bond and was especially close with his twin sister, Lucy. He enjoyed gardening and raising collards.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M., just prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Hills of The Neuse Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, Leroy is preceded in death by sons, Frankie Ray; Daryl Ray; brothers, Hershel Ray; Aaron Ray; Othar Ray; sisters, Pat Sealey; Marie Altry; and Libby Caudle;

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lois Ray of Micro; sons, Phil Ray and Billy Ray of Four Oaks; brothers, Paul Ray of Bentonville; Dan Ray of Garner; sisters, Lucy Jordan of Clayton; Pearl Grady of Troy; Annie Hamilton of Clayton; grandchildren, Patricia Ray of Creedmoor; TJ Holloman of Creedmoor; Carla of Creedmoor; and great grandson, Steven Ray of Creedmoor.
