Mr. Lester E. Reaper, Jr., age 72, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Beulah Baptist Church 3140 NC HWY 242 S., Benson, NC 27504. Pastor Steven Campbell and Pastor Paul Hill will officiate. The family will receive friends 10:00AM-10:45AM prior to the service.
Mr. Reaper was born on June 29, 1951 in Ironton, OH to the late Lester Reaper, Sr., and Alberta Pancake Reaper Keaton. Alongside his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rick Reaper, Steve Joseph, and Jeff Reaper, sisters, Janet Reaper Waller, Sandy Reaper Davis, and Linda Joseph McDaniel.
Mr. Reaper graduated in 1970 from Dawson-Bryant High School in Coal Grove, OH. He retired from AK Steel in Ashland, KY. In 1981 he started in the Ministry and served various churches until his retirement in 2015. While in Ministry he served as Youth Pastor for several churches and was Pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church in South Shore, KY for 2 years, and Westgate Baptist Church in Columbus, OH for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Cindy Pauley Reaper; children, Lester E. Reaper III “Sonny” and wife, Erin Dooley Reaper of Hudson, OH, Joseph Reaper of Benson, NC, Thomas Reaper and wife, Jennifer Zynch Reaper of Spring Hill Florida, Alexandra Reaper of Columbus, OH, Joshua Reaper of Columbus, OH, and Justin Reaper of Statesville, NC; seven grandchildren; sisters, Bobi Keaton Daniel, Penny Reaper Shope, Janet Joseph Franklin, and Cora Joseph Winters; several nieces and nephews.
