Smithfield – Marjorie Dickinson Langston died on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at her home. Born in Wayne County April 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late J. Hubert and Willie B. Dickinson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Dickinson, and her husband, Romey Langston Jr.
Mrs. Langston was the retired president of Smithfield Farm Equipment Company, a John Deere dealership, and a member of Centenary Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 3:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home from 1:00-3:00 PM, just prior to the service.
Mrs. Langston is survived by her sons, Ken Langston and wife Janet of Smithfield; Danny Langston and wife Tammy of Smithfield; Bob Langston and wife Tiffany of Grimesland; grandchildren, Brian Langston and wife Meg of Wilson’s Mills, Trenton Langston and wife Julia of Knoxville, TN; Morgan Langston of Smithfield; Miranda Oliver and husband Brandon of Smithfield; Landon Langston and wife Megan of Smithfield; Macon Langston of Grimesland; Kaelyn Langston of Grimesland; Emry Langston of Grimesland; great grandchildren, Dalton Langston, William Langston, Hayes Langston, Jay Oliver, Leo Oliver, Kai Oliver, Romey Langston, and Adeline Langston.
The family would like to recognize and thank Mrs. Langston’s caregivers during the last weeks of her life, Bethany, Nan, Della, and Debbie, and special friend and caregiver, Mabel Yelvington.
