Mavoreen Snead Hinton

    Middlesex N.C. – Mavoreen Snead Hinton, age 89, died in the SECU Hospice House on Tuesday February 27th, 2024. Born November 25th, 1934 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Snead and Lillian Adams Snead of Four Oaks. Mavoreen was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Bobby R. Hinton and her sisters, Doris McDuffy and JoAnn Blaschke.

    Mavoreen graduated from Four Oaks High School and also spent a year at Campbell College. She worked with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture as an executive secretary and retired in 1994. After retirement, Mavoreen enjoyed crafting including cross stitch and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and choir member.

    Visitation and funeral services will be conducted at the Antioch Baptist Church in Middlesex NC on Friday March 1st. Visitation will begin at 2 pm at the church, with the funeral beginning at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

    Surviving are her children, daughter Amy Hinton White Vickery and husband Vic of Clayton; sons, Bob Hinton and wife Robin of Raleigh and Morris Hinton and wife Carla of Clayton; also 6 grandchildren, Matthew White, Adam Hinton, John Hinton, Luke Hinton, Ben Hinton and Jaydon Hinton. And one great grand-daughter Savannah White.

    In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the SECU Hospice House, P.O. Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
