Selma- Phyllis Hodge Overby, age 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born on February 23, 1951 in Danville VA, she was the daughter of the late Roy Wesley and Margaret Jane Wilson Hodge. She was preceded in death by her brother, R.W. Hodge, and sister, Sandra Cattlet. Phyllis enjoyed going to church and loved Jesus. She loved the beach, reading, cooking, baking, and crafting. Most of all, she loved her 6 grandbabies and spending time with them more than anything.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Narron officiating. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., just prior the service.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Overby of Selma; daughters, Amy Friedl and husband, James of Hampton VA and Marcie Godfrey and fiance’, David Doyle of Selma; grandchildren, Zoe, Jacob, Ivy, McKenzie, Savanna, and Rylan; step-sons, Johnathan Overby of Selma and Timothy Overby of Princeton; step-grandchildren, Austin, Dalton, Kalee, and Kadence; and brother-in-law, Bill Cattlet of Selma.
