Hazel Horne LeMunyan, 94, of Kenly, formerly of Troutman and Cary, NC passed away on February 6, 2022.
Hazel was born in St. Augustine, FL on October 29, 1927 to the late Leon F Horne and Bela Mae Warren Horne. Hazel devoted herself to her family, church, friends, and her community. She loved working in her flower garden. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to garden, cook and she loved reading to all the little ones. She owned LeMunyan Blueberry Farm in Troutman, NC with her husband and it was her favorite place to be. She was well known as the Hat Lady as she loved to wear hats to church when she was able to go to Kenly Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, son Cobey LeMunyan (Susan) and daughters Marye LeMunyan Badgett (Glenn) and Suellen L Faison of Kenly, and special friends Joe, Jami, and DJ Trojanowski, Lucille Sullivan, Jim Snell and Gray West.
She is survived by grandchildren, Cleat Badgett (Phyllis), Aaron Perry (Tonya), Heather Evans (Jeff), Tara LeMunyan, Trebor Berkshire (Asheley), Garrett Baird (Crystal), Savannah Hall and Cyndy Perry.
She leaves great-grandchildren Trebor Berkshire II, Benjamin Berkshire, Agnes Berkshire, Easton Evans, Dilyn Evans, Eliza Stone, Mark Stone, Zoey Perry, Ryleigh Perry, Eryn Perry, Blayden Perry, Jonathan Clark (Crystal), Sara Badgett, Julica Badgett, Shane LeMunyan, Kyle LeMunyan, Autumn LeMunyan, Satchel Hager, Caleb Hager, Ezra Hager, DJ Goetz and Hadleigh Baird. She leaves great-great grandchildren Emma Clark, Addison Clark, and Waylon Clark.
Her surviving siblings are Rava Pierce, Murlie Bennett, and Anthony Butler (Sandra) and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Cobert LeMunyan, daughter Becky Pulley, grandsons Darryl Badgett and Adam Perry, brother, L.F. Horne, and sisters Sylvia Clements, and Evelyn Bartell.
Thanks to her many caregivers and friends who helped her and took care of her.
A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Kenly Cemetery with the Rev. Aubrey Williamson officiating.
The family will receive friends at her home.
