Selma – Robert “Bobby” David Jones, age 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in his home of Selma. Born, July 3, 1933, in Newport News, VA, he was a son of the late David “Buck” and Viola Jones. He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Betty Jean Jones as well as his infant son Robert Lynn Jones. Bobby was a minister for many years, pastoring at several churches in the Eastern NC area. He was a loving husband, father, and friend to many.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Pilkington Cemetery in Pine Level with the Rev. Franklin Lane officiating. Bobby will be laid to rest beside his loving wife Betty Jean Jones, who passed away only a few weeks before.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Jones of Princeton and Sammy Jones of Princeton as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
