    Mr. Robert “Tommy” Earl Price was born on April 4th, 1940, in Smithfield, North Carolina to the late Elnora and Lonnie Price, and departed this life in Clayton, North Carolina while being a temporary patient at Clayton Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Tommy passed away just two days before his 84th birthday, on April 2nd, 2024.

    Mr. Tommy attended public school in Johnston County. He joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. Throughout his life, he held various jobs. from farming, construction, mechanics, and truck driving. He had a wide range of hobbies which included gardening, farming, fishing, and working on vehicles. He enjoyed westerns and loved family wrestling trips to WRAL – he was always into wrestling of all types. Mr. Tommy was a man with a great sense of humor. He was a great family man who enjoyed growing watermelons for the community to enjoy.

    He also had a gift of giving nicknames to family members; nicknames based off of television characters and wrestlers such as Polly Bergen, Heavyweight, Minnie Mouse, and Joker.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lonnie Price Jr. and Joe Price; sister, Lela Ruth Price-Carroll; son, David Price; and special grandson, Jakqwon Mingus.

    Mr. Tommy is survived by his wife, Clara Hodges Price, sons, Robert Louis Price and Robert Earl Price (Evette), daughters, Genevieve Hodges (Earl), Genetta Hardy (Joe), Judith Dees, Diane Hardy, Mary Williams (Neil), Brenda Harlee (Chris), Belynda Revis (James), Senora Price, Nicolette Price; special granddaughter, Jamon Price-Stonestreet; special great-granddaughter, Niaela Rios-Price; and sisters, Doris Sanders and Nell Price. Mr. Tommy also leaves behind 27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and his caretakers, James’s “Sonny” Melvin and Emma Sanders Young.

    Mr. Robert “Tommy” Earl Price will certainly be missed. His dominant presence, quirky singing, comical stories, sincere gratitude, and his wonderful real love were indeed, a treasure that will forever be revealed in the legacy he has left behind.
