    Selma ā€“ Ruby Jewel Baker Barbour, age 74, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, in Smithfield Manor Nursing and Rehab. Born, February 24, 1950, in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Luther Ray and Pearl Harper Baker. She is preceded in death by her son, Rayford Stanley and her brother, James Ray Baker.

    Ruby was a member of Four Oaks Church of God. She was always a very caring and loving woman. Ruby was a CNA at Autumn Home Care for many years. Overall, she was a good-hearted Christian lady. She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible. Ruby was a creative lady, she enjoyed painting, doing crafts, and arranging flowers. She also enjoyed taking trips to the beach and to the mountains. She was a loving wife of 19 years. Ruby was also a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a mama to her four-legged babies, Roscoe and Lady. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Edwards and Rev. Stephen Keeseeker officiating. Burial will follow in Crocker Cemetery in Pine Level. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

    She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Mr. Bobby Ray Barbour; son, Johnnie Baker (Amy) of Wilson; brothers, Johnny Robert Baker of Four Oaks and Donald Lee Baker (Barbara) of Princeton; sister, Paulette Baker Slaughter (Kip) of Four Oaks.
