Smithfield – Scarlet Johnson Radford, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. Born, October 26, 1950, in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Joe and Margie Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Radford, son, Joey Johnson and brothers; Bill Johnson and Doug Davis.

Scarlet was a lover of all animals. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

A graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Eastern Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery in Goldsboro.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Fader (Alan) of Smithfield, son, Kevin Radford (Amanda) of Smithfield; grandchildren, Joey Johnson II, Crystal Jones, Alan Fader, Brooke Jones, Dawn Fader, Joseph Johnson, Mackenzie Radford, eleven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
