Theresa Whitley Medlin, 62, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Born in Wayne County on June 16, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy Whitley and Shelby Renfrow Whitley.
In addition to her parents, Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Medlin; grandson, Marcus Vigil; and brothers, Phillip Ray Whitley and Timothy Whitley.
Theresa is survived by her children, Teri Medlin, Wendy Sanders, Linda Medlin; grandchildren, Jennifer Boone, Dylan Massengill, Breanna Medlin, Maria Castro, Alexia Dixon, Arturo Torres, Jr., Dalia Trejo; great-grandchildren, Jayden Castro, Lorenzo Meza, Romeo Meza, Sadie Rose, and Dean Creech; sister, Joyce Bass; and brother, William Whitley.
Family was paramount in Theresa’s life. Her love for them knew no bounds and each moment spent together with them was a memory she cherished forever. She loved Christmas and Easter time, watching the smiles on her grandchildren’s faces as they opened presents and picked up eggs. Theresa enjoyed playing card games, especially with her grandchildren. Sometimes, Theresa could be seen going into the sweepstakes with a big smile on her face and going out with an even bigger smile after winning. She loved fishing, word search books, but most of all, she loved her family.
Per her request, no formal services will be held at this time. Theresa and her husband, Robert, will be laid to rest at Micro Memorial Gardens at a later date.
