Pine Level – Tony Owen Woodard, age 79, went Home to be with his Savior on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Born, April 22, 1944, in Wayne County he was the son of the late Elbert Lee Woodard and Edna Daughtry Woodard. Tony is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Woodard Stokes.
Tony was a lifetime member of Fellowship Community Methodist Church in Kenly. He was a devoted public servant all of his life, he was involved in many different activities such as: Scouts, coaching sports, Free Masons and the volunteer fire department in Pine Level. Tony also had a passion for gunsmithing which he perfected over many years. He also enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and working around the house. Tony was a loving husband of 59 and a half years, father, brother, grandfather and friend to many.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Community Methodist Church in Princeton with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4 ,2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Mitchell Woodard of Pine Level. His son Tracy Woodard and Wife Anna Woodard of Snow Hill, granddaughters; Amanda Woodard (Fiancé Jackson Pulley) and Abby Woodard, as well as many nieces, nephews and family members.
