Virginia “Ginny” Johnson, 66, of Pine Level NC, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2025, with her devoted fiancé, Kirk Downer, by her side. Born October 9, 1958, Ginny was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and her generous spirit.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, John Lee Sr. and Theresa Ferraro Lee; and her siblings, Robert Lee, John Lee, Barbara Suggs, and Carol Jenkins. She is survived by her fiancé, Kirk Downer; her son, Daniel Beasley; and her cherished grandchildren, Journey, Brooke, Taylor, and Hannah Beasley. She also leaves behind her siblings, Gregg Lee and Diane Lee; seven nieces and nephews; a close friend, Kimberly Keithline; and a large extended family she embraced as her own.
For many years, Ginny worked diligently at Davita Dialysis, where her dedication and hard work were greatly appreciated. Upon retirement, she devoted her time to the things she loved most: cooking delicious meals for her family and showering her loved ones with the boundless love and care she was known for. To those fortunate enough to know her, Ginny was a caregiver extraordinaire, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer support. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she tirelessly ensured they knew how deeply loved and cherished they were. To her family and close friends, she was affectionately known as Ginny or “Ma,” a testament to her nurturing and maternal nature.
A service to celebrate Ginny’s life will take place on a later date.
She will be deeply missed but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
