William Harvey Scott, age 68, transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born on August 10, 1955, in Hutchinson, KS. He was the son of the late Chester V and Beulah Christine Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Ruby Scott, his brothers, Donald Gibson and Chester Young.
He was a long-time faithful member of Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Selma. He loved his church family as much as his immediate family. He served as a deacon, youth leader, was on the cooking committee, choir member, and was also a camp counselor. He loved everyone he met, and his only wish was for everyone to come to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was constantly spreading the news of the gospel and his testimony to anyone he encountered whether at dialysis, Walmart, or the hospital. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He held many different occupations to support his family. He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, riding horses, coloring on his phone and keeping up with friends on Facebook. His favorite thing to do was talk about and love on his grandchildren. He would always say they were his heart.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday August 8, 2024 at Branch Chapel FWB church in Selma with Eric Narron officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
Surviving are his wife and love of his life of 49 years, Nettie Gay Scott; children, Jennifer Crowder, William Scott Jr and fiancé Rocio, Daniel Scott and wife Courtney; sisters, Judy Messer and husband, Jerry and Lola Malmin and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Hunter, Paul, Chase, Matthew, Carma, Emma, Daniel, Chloe, Tinsley, Roman, Emilie. And many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
