Smithfield – Barry Alan Barefoot, age 55 passed away Friday May 8, 2020 at his home in Smithfield.
He was born on November 4, 1964 to Walter S. Barefoot and June Brown Barefoot. Mr. Barefoot is preceded in death by his father Walter S. Barefoot, and loving step mother Jean Barefoot.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Barefoot is survived by fiancé, Sandie Creech of the home; Mother, June Brown Barefoot; Brothers, Mike Barefoot of Johnston County, Bo Barefoot and wife Kelly of White Lake, Mark Barefoot and wife Christy of North Topsail Island; Sisters, Jodi Ledford and husband Scott of Winter garden, FL, Jeanie Garner of Selma; 12 nieces and nephews and also Fur babies, Tootsie Von Sugarpaws, Tink Tink, Bella, and Cuddles the cat.
Mr. Barefoot was in the auto parts salvage business for 35 years. He was a member of the CF Martin Guitar Owner Group and loved to play all kinds of music especially bluegrass. Mr. Barefoot was a Navy veteran and also an avid sports fan in which he pulled for the Washington Redskins, Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Bruins. Mr. Barefoot was also a member of the Triangle Red Skins Fan Club. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and visiting the mountains in North Carolina.
